BACKGROUND

Jussi Jaakko Saukkonen, Jr. MD is the Director of the Pulmonary Clinics at the West Roxbury Veterans Hospital with an academic appointment at Boston University Medical Center. He has served and continues to serve on a variety of international consortia such as the CDC-sponsored TB Trials Consortium. He has deep practical experience in organizing translational research and clinical trials. His basic research interests lie in immunology and infectious disease and coupled with his clinical duties provides the program with the patient focus with the eye to the eventual clinical trials.
