Forum Abstract
The development of unobtrusive biosensors has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by realizing low-cost and pervasive physiological monitoring. This talk will present several novel technologies for comfortable assessment of autonomic nervous system activity such as electrodermal activity (EDA), an index for sympathetic activity, and heart rate variability (HRV). These technologies include wearable biosensors, mobile devices and non-contact techniques for enabling long-term, continuous physiological assessment and promoting healthy lifestyles. Studies are currently underway to evaluate the use of these technologies in a variety of clinical applications, including autism, sleep and epilepsy.
