Forum Abstract
Simulation of healthcare clinical situations is now used widely for many training, safety and research applications. There are about 2,000 centers around the world using various forms of simulation, most including computer-controlled mannequins and other technologies with a range of capabilities and placed in medical environments that can be accurately representative of real clinical settings. In this session, we will learn about how simulation is being used for identifying human factors issues early on and thus likely shortening the device development cycle. We expect to imagine how clinical trials for different types of medical technologies can be further enhanced in the future, or for some things, perhaps eliminated. The two presenters will share their experiences and three panel reactors will respond with their views, experiences and comments.
