CIMIT PRIZE FOR PRIMARY HEALTHCARE
The CIMIT Prize for Primary Healthcare is a national competition open to graduate and undergraduate engineering students from accredited engineering programs, and is designed to encourage development of technological innovations in the frontlines of care. Learn more.

CIMIT Innovation GRANTS
CIMIT Innovation Grants support early stage, collaborative research projects for improving patient care, with emphasis on devices, procedures, diagnosis, and clinical systems. CIMIT awards grants to principal investigators on faculty at the CIMIT Consortium institutions. Learn more.

3.2.10 ANNOUCEMENT: CIMIT receives 195 Innovation Grants pre-proposals.

YOUNG CLINICIAN RESEARCH AWARDS
The Young Clinician Research Award recognizes outstanding clinicians within CIMIT Consortium eligible hospitals, early in their careers, who are engaged in the development of breakthrough medical devices and technologies. Those eligible include clinical researchers early in their careers, such as Fellows, Instructors, and Assistant Professors.

CIMIT Names 2009 Recipients of Young Clinician Research Awards.
Seven Innovative Physicians Win $50,000 to Fund Novel Medical Device Research

Established as a pilot program in 2007, this innovative award was initiated and supported by sponsorship from Johnson and Johnson for three years.  CIMIT is now seeking additional sponsors.

MIMIT-CIMIT INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION GRANTS
International Collaboration Grants are designed to encourage the formation of international teams and to initiate early stage research in specific areas.  International teams must be focused on addressing unmet clinical needs with an emphasis on devices, procedures and diagnostics. This research grant opportunity will support up to four international team collaborations.  Funding for these grants has been made possible by a Science Bridges Award from the Research Councils United Kingdom (RCUK).

Only faculty of MIMIT and CIMIT Consortium institutions are eligible for the International Collaboration Grants.

Medical Engineering Fellowships
These two awards are funded respectively by CIMIT and MIT and by CIMIT and Boston University. This new fellowship offers multi-year support for graduate engineering students to work in highly innovative yet classically under-funded areas of healthcare research.

CIMIT does not support drug development, information technology-centric projects, basic research, or clinical trials.

CIMIT awards grants to principal investigators on faculty at the CIMIT Consortium institutions. Projects may include team members from other academic institutions and collaborators from industry.

All investigators (especially first-time applicants) are urged to contact the CIMIT Site Miner at your institution and the leaders of CIMIT Program(s) most relevant to your application. Site Miner(s) can answer questions and connect you with CIMIT leaders and staff. All can help you network with other CIMIT institutions, suggest potential collaborators, and advise on developing your pre-proposal application.

CIMIT does not provide funding for Industry, but does provide services and SBIR grant assistance to companies through its Industry Liaison Program.
