Dr. Khademhosseini named among nation's top young innovators

Congratulations go out to CIMIT-backed researcher Ali Khademhosseini, PhD, for being named by Technology Review magazine as one of the top 35 young innovators in the country under the age of 35 in its annual TR35 listing. His research is focused on improving engineered tissue in a process called "living Legos." He was a recipient in CIMIT's 2007 Awards with a project he described as "microencapsulation of cells within shape-controlled microgels as building blocks for tissue-engineered organs." Dr. Khademhosseini, who presented at a CIMIT Forum in April, is an associate bioengineer at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and assistant professor, Division of Health Sciences and Technology, at Harvard Medical School.
