BACKGROUND

Ron Kikinis received his medical degree from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, then worked as a researcher at the ETH in Zurich and as a resident at the University Hospital in Zurich. Currently, he is the Director of the Surgical Planning Laboratory of the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he studies the development of image processing algorithms and software systems and their application to medicine. He is also a Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles.
